Refund policy

At Layla Diamonds, every piece is handcrafted with exceptional care and attention to detail. We take great pride in the quality of our jewellery and want you to be completely delighted with your purchase.

Please read the following policy carefully before placing your order.

Returns

Eligible items may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund.

To qualify for a return, the item must:

  • Be unworn and in its original condition

  • Show no signs of wear, damage, alteration or resizing

  • Be returned with all original packaging

  • Be accompanied by all original diamond certificates, gemmologist reports, valuation documents and any other documentation supplied with the purchase

  • Be returned within 14 days of the delivery date

  • Be returned in the same condition in which it was received and must not show any signs of wear, use, cleaning, repair attempts or modification

Returns that do not meet these requirements may be refused.

Items returned without their original diamond grading certificate, gemmologist report or accompanying documentation may be subject to a replacement fee or refusal of refund. Any costs incurred in replacing missing documentation or certificates may be deducted from the refund amount where permitted by law.

Non Refundable Items

The majority of Layla Diamonds jewellery is made to order and manufactured specifically for each customer. As such, most engagement rings, wedding rings and fine jewellery pieces are non refundable once production has commenced unless faulty.

The following items are non refundable and non exchangeable unless found to have a genuine manufacturing fault:

  • Bespoke jewellery

  • Made to order jewellery

  • Custom designed pieces

  • Engagement rings manufactured to a customer's chosen diamond specification

  • Special order or custom cut diamonds or gemstones

  • Engraved or personalised jewellery

  • Items altered or modified at the customer's request

  • Resized rings

For the avoidance of doubt, any item manufactured, sourced, altered or customised specifically for a customer shall be considered bespoke or made to order and is therefore non refundable.

Order Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled without charge before production has commenced.

Once production has begun, the order becomes non cancellable and non refundable as materials, labour and resources will have been allocated specifically to the creation of the item.

Deposits & Outstanding Balances

A deposit may be required to secure certain bespoke, made to order or custom jewellery commissions.

Deposits are non refundable once materials have been sourced, diamonds or gemstones have been purchased, or production has commenced.

Where a deposit has been paid, the remaining balance must be paid in full within 6 months of the deposit being paid, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Layla Diamonds.

If full payment is not received within 6 months, Layla Diamonds reserves the right to cancel the order and retain the deposit to cover administrative costs, design work, materials sourced and losses incurred.

Any cancellation under these circumstances will result in the forfeiture of the deposit, and Layla Diamonds shall have no further obligation to fulfil the order.

Layla Diamonds reserves the right to dispose of, reallocate or resell any materials, diamonds or gemstones purchased for an order that has been cancelled due to non payment.

Any extension to the payment period is granted solely at the discretion of Layla Diamonds and must be confirmed in writing.

Ring Resizing

Any ring that has been resized after purchase is not eligible for return or exchange.

Faulty Items

In the unlikely event that your item develops a manufacturing fault, please contact us as soon as possible.

All items returned as faulty will be inspected by our workshop team to determine the cause of the issue.

Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, impact damage, catching, misuse, loss of stones due to knocks or everyday wear, or damage caused by third party repairs are not considered manufacturing faults.

Diamonds and gemstones are secured using fine claws and settings which may become weakened through everyday wear, accidental knocks, pressure, physical activities or general use over time. The loss of a diamond or gemstone does not automatically indicate a manufacturing fault and each case will be assessed individually by our workshop team.

Stone loss occurring after extended wear is generally considered wear and tear or accidental damage rather than a manufacturing defect.

Where inspection identifies a genuine manufacturing fault, Layla Diamonds will, at its discretion and in accordance with your statutory rights, repair, replace or refund the item.

Natural Characteristics

Diamonds, gemstones and precious metals are natural products and may contain naturally occurring characteristics, inclusions, colour variations and other unique features.

These natural characteristics are not defects and do not qualify an item for refund, exchange or replacement.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping.

We strongly recommend using a fully insured and trackable delivery service.

Layla Diamonds accepts no responsibility for items that are lost, stolen or damaged during return transit and refunds cannot be issued until the returned item has been safely received and inspected.

Refund Processing

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5 to 10 working days of acceptance.

Original shipping charges are non refundable unless the item is confirmed to be faulty.

International Orders

Any customs duties, taxes, import charges or similar fees incurred on international orders are non refundable.

Customers remain responsible for any duties or taxes charged by their local customs authority.

Any delays caused by customs authorities are outside the control of Layla Diamonds and do not constitute grounds for cancellation, refund or compensation.

Statutory Rights

Nothing within this policy affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.
